Why dog training is important

Early obedience training is an essential part of your dog's life. It provides important mental stimulation for your companion, which helps to keep your dog happy, and can help prevent him from picking up annoying habits, such as jumping on people or inappropriate barking or chewing. Learning good manners can even help to curb similar bad habits in older dogs.

Socialization is a particularly important aspect of your dog's life. Learning how to respond to other dogs, and what is acceptable and not acceptable in dog language is crucial for his emotional and physical well-being. Look at it as if you would teach your dog life skills.

You also may benefit from a closer bond and positive relationship with your dog. Statistics show that owners with behaviorally sound pets get more satisfaction out of the relationship and have a stronger bond with their pet.

Not showing your dog boundaries and the correct behavior and expectations is actually considered cruel and unfair to the animal. In fact, most submissive and aggressive dogs I have met, are largely that way because of a lack of structure in the dog’s life.

Training your dog is essential to a happy, healthy life for you both. It enhances loyalty and a loving companionship.

I have written two books about my wonderful babies, my two loving Pomeranians, which bring me so much joy in my life. You can order these books by clicking here or you may want to order my newly released audiobook ‘The Day Cookie Was Lost', which you can play in the car while driving to keep your youngsters entertained.
